Delhi NCR runner Rajesh Sahni shares his experience of starting off with the 100 days challenge after sustaining an injury earlier. He is well on the way now with two third of the journey done!

I had been running mostly on treadmill for many years, before I took road running last year and did my 1st ADHM in 02:08:36 hrs…. Soon after which I had developed pain in shin and had to abandon running for 4 months. I slowly resumed.

rajesh_sahniIn April, when I came to know about 100 days running challenge, my heart was to grab it but mind was in dilemma….. Will I be able to do…most importantly without injury . I was advised negative by a few of my running buddies but I wanted to test myself…more on discipline of daily running rather anything else. This is when I and Arvind Ahluwalia decided to take up this challenge.

Initial few days were tough, but I had learnt in one of the training that it takes 21 days to form or give up a habit. So I had set a first mile stone as 21 days of running. I knew, if I cross this 21 days barrier , I will sail through. I also took a target of 600km in 100 days as a target and 700km as a stretched target.

It was really jubilant to cross 21 days. Now it’s almost a daily routine…. Anything but daily run can’t wait . Before leaving for office or after coming back….. Before taking a flight or after landing , running must go on and thankfully, today I completed 63 days of running with 401 km logged. I am well on track for my set target . There had been days, when I have to travel for my job and I have asked taxi fellow to chase me before I complete 2km for daily min log. Arvind is also doing great and is continuing….. Running is now part of daily life , I hope and wish to continue beyond 100 days…..!!!
